General Questions

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession focused on restoring and maintaining your movement and function. We use expert, hands-on techniques, personalised exercise programs, and client education to help you recover from injury, reduce pain, and improve your overall quality of life.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows us to easily access the area we are treating. For example, shorts are ideal for a knee or hip assessment, and a tank top is helpful for a shoulder problem.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your first appointment is an Initial Assessment. It will involve:

  • A detailed discussion about your pain, medical history, and personal goals.
  • A thorough physical examination of your movement, strength, and the affected area.
  • A clear explanation of our findings (your diagnosis) and your personalised treatment plan.
  • Beginning your first treatment to start your recovery immediately.

About the Clinic / Practitioners

Are your physiotherapists qualified?

Yes. All our physiotherapists are fully qualified and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). They have extensive experience both the NHS and private settings.

What makes Providence Physio different?

We are committed to one-on-one, patient-centred care. This means your entire appointment is spent exclusively with your physiotherapist. We combine hands-on manual therapy with active, evidence-based exercise to provide a complete and lasting solution, not just a temporary fix.
